Dear Parents

Newsletter – September 2011

A very warm welcome back to all of you for the start of the New School Year.  I hope you all enjoyed the summer break, despite the appalling weather, and that the children are refreshed and ready for the term ahead.

We would particularly like to welcome the following children who are joining the school today. William Lewin, Joseph Matthews, Chloe Armstrong, Milli Harvey, Beau Wise, Hannah Hussain, Blake Irow, Sophie Lang, Marisa Chauhan, Violet Galliers, Toby Rich, Jack Shellard, Darcey Shinkins, Rayaan Akhtar, Rajbir Kainth, Heidi Agnew, Haider Binvakas, Zidaan Jilani, Georgia Summers and Isobel Webber have joined our Nursery, and Prisha Bedi, Vivisha Athithan, Max Cooper and Max Foster have joined Reception, Year 2, Year 4 and Year 5 respectively.

We also welcome Mrs Pradhan and Mrs Sydenham who will be the teaching assistants in Reception and Year 3. Dr McMillan has commenced her new role as Year 4 form teacher.

A great deal of work has been completed during the holiday.  A new roof has been installed to the main building.  There is a small area to the side of the school by the kitchen remaining and the work will be completed by Monday, September 12th.  In the meantime that area is out of bounds. In addition, the boys’ ground floor toilet has been completely refurbished and the hall has been redecorated.

Uniform.  We are very proud of our distinctive uniform and I would take this opportunity to remind parents that all children should be properly kitted out in standard uniform which is available from Henry Taylor (Outfitters) Ltd either from their shop or on-line.  Parents should note that the girls’ tunic should be of the same style as the one in display in the dining room window.  Please do not purchase other styles which do not comply with our uniform standards.  All children may continue to wear their summer uniform until October half term if you so wish.

A few reminders:

  • The back gate is unlocked from 8.30am each morning and parents may bring in their children and wait with them in the playground.  Parents who need to leave their children before 8.30am can access the Early Risers club, which runs from 8.00am.  Please contact the office for further details if you require this service.  Y6 boys enter by the small back gate for their Early Morning study class.  Please make sure that they are here between 8.00 and 8.10 as arriving after this time means that they will not be able to go into the study class.
  • Fees should be paid one week before the start of any term and please note that any fees that remain outstanding will be subject to at £25.00 levy, rising by £25 each week outstanding.
  • Please make sure that ALL UNIFORM IS CLEARLY MARKED.
  • Please park with due consideration to our neighbours ensuring that you do not block their drives.  We also ask that parents dropping off for Early Risers or picking up from After School Club refrain from using the school forecourt and ensure that they do not block the drive.

A list of dates and events is attached.

Yours sincerely

M Bradfield
