Dear Parents and Children

I thought you would appreciate a quick update to my recent blog.

As you will remember, we were entering a table tennis tournament for the first time on January 18th and it gives me great pleasure to announce that the team did wonderfully well.  We reached the semi-finals and of the four competitors, three were from Daiglen!  The final was a contest between Clark Pollins and Lucas Jefcoate and Clark emerged as victorious, bringing home the cup and shield for Daiglen.  Well done to everyone who took part, and particularly to Clark, our first Table Tennis Champion.  Clark has now been invited to take part in national finals in Doncaster which are being held on April 21st.  I’m sure you will join me in wishing him every success.

Continuing the sporting theme I would also like to congratulate Brandon Armstrong who took part in a major tennis tournament at Reigate Lawn Tennis Club on Sunday and came second, only losing by two points in the final.

The Forest Swimming Gala takes place later today and we wish the Daiglen Team good luck.

Thank you to those people who have responded promptly to last week's questionnaire. Do please try to make the time to complete if you want your voice to be heard: the more responses we get, the better idea we have of what we are doing well and we we can do better.

The theme for Arts Week this term will be The Olympic Games. All the special activities and experiences, and the work that they inspire, will culminate in a final assembly. I hope you will be able to come along to Open Day, March 28th, to see the results for yourself. I can promise you wonderful displays and excited, informative children eager to share their knowledge with you.
