ICT is an integral part of teaching and learning throughout the school. ICT teaching is two-fold, both as a subject in its own right and across the curriculum.
Each pupil has a weekly ICT lesson with a specialist teacher where essential skills are taught. Our ICT scheme of work reflects the National Curriculum requirements and allows for progression and continuity throughout Key Stages 1 and 2. The school has an excellent, well-equipped ICT suite where pupils take their ICT lessons. Teaching groups are small and each pupil has the individual use of a computer, which allows them to partake fully for the whole lesson. In addition the ICT room is used by Junior pupils for Internet research and to word process and present projects etc.
Pupils also have access to ICT in their classrooms and subject teaching areas. ICT is used to support the delivery of the curriculum in all subjects. The three infant classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards and the Junior classrooms are equipped with projectors attached to laptops. Classrooms also have individual computers and printers for independent work.
In addition to computers the school is further resourced with computer peripheries which include: printers, scanners, cameras, electronic robots, temperature and sound sensors, minicams and electronic microscopes.
