Geography

In the lower school Geography is taught through projects related to the local area and the adventures of ‘Barnaby Bear’ who travels to various locations around the world. Stories of life in contrasting countries are discussed and basic geographical skills are taught including classroom plans, mapping and signs. The concept of conservation is included in topics chosen by each member of staff.

Geography
In the Junior Department all thematic aspects of the National Curriculum are taught including rivers, weather, settlement and environmental change. Topics such as deserts, Antarctica, The destruction of tropical forests, volcanoes and the growing problems of pollution are also studied. There is a wide use of multimedia study aids throughout the Key Stage Two course and fieldwork includes the study of a local river.
