Daiglen School

Art

The school has a purpose-built art room where all junior children work with the specialist teacher once a week. Talent is nurtured and the very high standard achieved by all pupils can be seen in the quality of work displayed. Pupils study the work of famous artists and art from other cultures.

Art
They learn how to express themselves visually, using different types of media, producing two dimensional and three dimensional work. Pupils sometimes work individually and sometimes as part of a group. Last year the Year 5 class collaborated to paint a beautiful mural inspired by Rousseau’s ‘Tiger in the Storm’ which enhanced their playground environment. Work is regularly entered for local competitions and exhibitions and many pupils have won prizes, for example for a Christmas card design competition run by the local council.
